The Queen's Curse

By
Natasja Hellenthal

ABOUT THE BOOK:-
It’s time for change! In a country with a cursed justice system, two women; a queen and her bodyguard set out on a secretive perilous quest.
They hope to find the mysterious sorceress living in The Magical Land Dochas, the only person powerful enough to be able to lift the curse. They have to hurry as they only have three weeks to save Tirsa’s teenage brother’s life, sentenced to hanging for a petty crime. But first they have to make it safely to the border.

They seek the help of the Silent Folk; magical beings that dwell in the woods and clouds in this enchanting realm, from which few return and none emerge unchanged. But even with their help they seem to be getting no where fast. Time is running out…

Whilst they grow exceedingly fond of each other; their endurance and relationship is pushed to the limits as they try to break through the sorceress’ powerful magical traps and overcome all sorts of dangers. Each step of the way will take them closer to their goal, but questions arise; will she be willing to help them and for what price?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:-
Although a writer for all of her adult life, she is now a published author with her first debut Fantasy novel out. Born and raised in The Netherlands, having lived in Norway, Wales and Northern-Ireland, Natasja Hellenthal is currently living in the UK, with her partner, two small children, two dogs and a cat.
'The Queen's Curse' is her first of many to publish novels.

It's an original heroic spiritual Fantasy novel that will interest a lot of people, both straight and gay as it has many interesting elements such as: justice/injustice, lesbian romance, freedom, adventure, magic, immortality, intrigue, soul searching, love, life, loss, near death experience, sword and sorcery. In this book the author explores the ancient battle between good and evil so common in Fantasy. What is evil and how does someone become bad?

In her writing she deals with all elements of life, love and loss and tries to build strong characters as realistic as possible, for even though the genre is Fantasy she wants people to feel connected with her heroes and villains as they would with their friends. Natasja is influenced by writers such as Marion Zimmer Bradley and Tanith Lee. She has written more, short stories and novels, so watch this space!
